Deck overview

This Jeskai Spellslinger deck is commanded by Gandalf, Party Guest, focusing on a dense suite of 21 legendary Wizards to cheat high-mana instants and sorceries directly into play. In the early game, the deck establishes fast mana, cost reducers, and cheap legendary creatures like Baral, Chief of Compliance and Kaza, Roil Chaser. Once Gandalf enters, his beginning-of-combat trigger scales with the legendary Wizard count, allowing the deck to cast devastating bombs such as Call Forth the Tempest, Expropriate, and Multiversal Incursion for free as early as Turn 4 or 5. Strong card draw engines like Azami, Lady of Scrolls, Rhystic Study, and The One Ring keep the hand full of gas, while elite countermagic including Fierce Guardianship and Deflecting Swat defends key plays. The deck finishes games by compounding extra turn spells, overrunning the table with Akroma's Will and Balmor, Battlemage Captain, or executing an Underworld Breach storm win.
