Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Dimir Zombie Aristocrats strategy commanded by Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver. The primary game plan establishes an efficient board presence using cheap Zombies and utility creatures, followed by deploying Wilhelt on Turn 4 to convert dying creatures into 2/2 decayed tokens while drawing extra cards each end step. By Turn 6, the deck scales into a critical board state using aristocrat drain pieces like Diregraf Captain, Plague Belcher, and Vengeful Dead, or asymmetric force multipliers like Poppet Stitcher // Poppet Factory and Noxious Ghoul. The deck also features a game-ending two-card combo between Rooftop Storm and Acererak the Archlich, which infinitely ventures through the Lost Mine of Phandelver dungeon to drain the entire table. Supported by solid recursion and token generation, the deck consistently grinds through opposing interaction and closes out games on Turn 7.
