Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Grismold, the Dreadsower, focusing on transforming symmetrical token generation into an asymmetric engine of destruction and commander damage. Grismold creates 1/1 Plant tokens for every player on each of your end steps, which are immediately wiped out by static debuffs like Illness in the Ranks and Virulent Plague or consumed by cards like Skullclamp. Each token death fuels Grismold with +1/+1 counters, rapidly scaling its power to lethal trample levels while triggering Aristocrat drain effects from Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Marionette Apprentice. The deck features robust protection via Heroic Intervention and The Ozolith, efficient removal, and backup infinite combo lines with Basking Broodscale and Blade of the Bloodchief. It delivers high-pressure combat clocks backed by crushing board attrition.
