Deck overview

This Boros deck focuses on aggressive combat steps and damage amplification, commanded by Lightning, Army of One. Lightning features first strike, trample, lifelink, and the Stagger ability, which doubles all damage dealt to a player until your next turn once she connects in combat. The deck leverages this multiplier by stacking extra combat steps (Combat Celebrant, Karlach, Fury of Avernus, Raph & Leo, Sibling Rivals, Response // Resurgence) and static damage multipliers (Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, City on Fire, Angrath's Marauders) to eliminate opponents rapidly. Goad mechanics like Disrupt Decorum and Nelly Borca, Impulsive Accuser force opponents to attack one another, clearing paths for Lightning while whittling enemy life totals. The deck operates smoothly on curve but relies on natural draws due to a lack of tutors, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes and heavy spot removal.
