Deck overview

This deck is a Jund Lands and Landfall engine led by Szarel, Genesis Shepherd. The strategy focuses on accelerating mana through land-based ramp and self-sacrificing fetchlands, then casting Szarel to replay those lands directly from the graveyard. Sacrificing lands fuels secondary value engines, grows creatures with +1/+1 counters, and triggers explosive landfall payoffs such as Titania, Protector of Argoth, Rampaging Baloths, Omnath, Locus of Rage, and Scute Swarm. Powerful mass-recursion spells like Splendid Reclamation and big-mana finishers like Cultivator Colossus or Moraug, Fury of Akoum translate land velocity into lethal combat steps. While the deck boasts immense late-game resource inevitability and high functional redundancy across its land payoffs, it runs minimal instant-speed countermagic or protective shields, leaving its creature boards reliant on natural recovery and resilient redundancy against opposing sweepers.
