Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos midrange strategy helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm, focusing on mass Treasure creation, artifact-based burn, and Dragon beatdown. In the early turns, it develops mana rocks and token doublers like Xorn and Academy Manufactor. As Smaug, Wicked Worm enters the battlefield, it converts opposing artifact counts into immediate Treasure tokens and turns future Treasure spending into continuous card draw. The midgame leverages pingers like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Ingenious Artillerist to drain opponents whenever Treasures enter or leave play. High-end Dragons such as Ancient Copper Dragon and Cavern-Hoard Dragon provide massive token floods and evasive combat pressure, while alternate win conditions like Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant threaten sudden victories. The deck features strong reactive removal to answer key threats, although it remains susceptible to artifact board wipes and heavy enchantment-based stax.
