Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis midrange strategy focused on Sauron, the Dark Lord and the Amass mechanic. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with 2-CMC artifacts and fixing colors through an optimized land base. Once Sauron enters the battlefield on Turn 4, opponents' spellcasts automatically swell an Orc Army. On Turn 5, the Army attacks to trigger the Ring tempting mechanic, allowing Sauron to discard an empty or low hand and draw four fresh cards. This burst card velocity continuously fuels interaction and unearths potent payoffs such as All Will Be One, Chandra's Ignition, and The Great Goblin. Built-in protection from Sauron's Ward ability and supporting equipment secures the board against single-target interaction. The deck closes games around Turn 7 by chaining massive combat swings with direct burn and lifedrain spells.
