Commander: Licia, Sanguine Tribune

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Mardu lifegain/pay-life deck turns a high life total into opponents' loss. Early Soul Warden-style creatures and extort cards build the cushion that lets Licia, Sanguine Tribune enter for little mana and serve as a lifelinking beatdown. The actual finishing engine is Exquisite Blood combined with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Vizkopa Guildmage; whenever a life-gain trigger occurs, the loop drains the table. Bolas's Citadel, Rowan, Scion of War, and Treasonous Ogre convert life into huge Exsanguinate/Dept to the Deathless. Sorin, Rowan, and Verrak act as lieutenants rather than a hidden commander, while Licia remains the commander.
