Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasure-Dragon engine deck built around Smaug the Magnificent. Because Smaug has haste, the turn he resolves he attacks and immediately fires a Treasure-scaled Fireball at any target; the entire 99 is designed to make that number enormous, with 30+ Treasure producers including Xorn and Academy Manufactor multipliers, Goldspan Dragon attack triggers, and one-shot bursts like Brass's Bounty. The primary kill is a multiplied Smaug trigger under Fiery Emancipation, Twinflame Tyrant, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, or Torbran, Thane of Red Fell. Secondary lines include Hellkite Tyrant's 20-artifact alternate win, Knuckles the Echidna's 30-artifact upkeep check, and table-wide drain from Reckless Fireweaver/Ingenious Artillerist when bursts of Treasures enter. Magda, Brazen Outlaw provides repeatable artifact/Dragon tutoring, giving the deck a reliable way to find finishers. This is a mid-speed engine deck: resilient to single removal, noticeably exposed to resolved enchantment hate.
