Deck overview

This is a Azorius Bird tribal tempo-control deck built around the partner pair Esior, Wardwing Familiar and Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker. Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker is the primary finisher: a cheap flying threat that grows every time an opponent casts a spell, then gets loaded with equipment and auras such as Blackblade Reforged, Battle Mastery, and Steel of the Godhead to become a one-shot commander-damage clock. Esior, Wardwing Familiar taxes opposing spells aimed at the commanders, keeping the voltron plan intact. The 99 supports this with a dense Bird/flier suite - Kangee, Sky Warden, Kastral, the Windcrested, and Sephara, Sky's Blade - strong card draw, and heavy interaction/counterspells. A slower secondary win condition exists in Approach of the Second Sun. The deck plays a draw-go-ish game, controls the board, then closes with one or two large Ishai swings or a swarm of evasive Birds.
