Deck overview

Zahur, Glory's Past leads a low-to-the-ground Orzhov aristocrats deck that uses small creatures, free sacrifice outlets, and death-payoff drainers. Lurrus is the companion, not a hidden commander. The primary plan is to reach max speed, convert every nontoken death into a 2/2 Zombie, and finish with a mass reanimation spell such as Raise the Past; the secondary path is incremental chip damage from Blood Artist effects and tokens. The commander is a value engine rather than a combo piece: his once-per-turn surveil fills the graveyard, and his max-speed ability multiplies a single recursion turn into lethal drain.
