Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir reanimator and combat midrange list commanded by The Ancient One. The game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard through self-mill, discard outlets, and wheel effects like Windfall and Frantic Search. Once eight permanent cards enter the graveyard, The Ancient One unlocks its 8/8 body to pressure life totals alongside reanimated high-impact creatures such as Massacre Wurm, Noxious Gearhulk, Rune-Scarred Demon, and Great Whale. The deck relies on high functional redundancy in reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Necromancy to maintain threats. While the list generates steady card advantage through engines like Ripples of Undeath and Phyrexian Arena, it deliberately omits fast mana rocks, free countermagic, and infinite combos. It closes games through sequential combat damage, commander damage, and life drain from Syr Konrad, the Grim.
