Commander: The Madcap Jester

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis "steal-and-cast" deck helmed by The Madcap Jester, built entirely around exiling opponents' libraries and playing their cards. The commander's attack trigger exiles a card from each opponent, and the deck's second ability lets you cast those exiled cards until your next end step with mana of any color. The 99 is a dense web of redundancy for this effect: Prosper, Tome-Bound, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, Stolen Strategy, Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, and a host of "villainous choice" spells like Ensnared by the Mara and Fevered Suspicion all generate the same resource - access to opponents' cards. The deck wins by out-valuing the table with their own threats, supplemented by Circu, Dimir Lobotomist's soft-lock, Nalfeshnee copying spells from exile, and a solid interaction suite. It is a midrange value engine that grinds into inevitability rather than assembling a fast combo.
