Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Grixis aristocrats and recursion engine commanded by Marchesa, the Black Rose. The strategy revolves around modifying creatures with +1/+1 counters via Dethrone, Gev, Scaled Scorch, Unspeakable Symbol, or Thran Vigil, and pairing them with free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, Carrion Feeder, and Warren Soultrader. Because Marchesa returns dying creatures with counters at the beginning of the next end step, the deck can sacrifice utility creatures on every player's turn. Looping cards like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder strips opposing boards of creatures, while Glen Elendra Archmage provides recurring countermagic. Card draw engines like Grim Haruspex, Midnight Reaper, and Skullclamp maintain high hand velocity. The deck closes games through compounded life drain from Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat, unblockable beatdown via Herald of Secret Streams, or a 3-card infinite persist loop with Murderous Redcap.
