Deck overview

This deck uses Kykar, Wind's Fury to turn noncreature spells into a wide army of flying 1/1 Spirit tokens while generating mana velocity. Early turns focus on deploying 2-CMC mana rocks and setting up the graveyard or card selection using efficient cantrips like Ponder and Preordain. Once Kykar enters the battlefield on Turn 4, every noncreature spell creates a Spirit that can either attack or sacrifice for red mana. Draw engines like Skullclamp, Archmage Emeritus, and Whirlwind of Thought keep your hand full as you chain cheap spells. The deck wins by turning this token army into lethal damage using mass pump effects such as Shared Animosity, Balmor, Battlemage Captain, and Jeskai Ascendancy, or by burning opponents with Impact Tremors and Guttersnipe. Protection spells like Brave the Elements and Unbreakable Formation keep the board safe from sweepers, while Storm-Kiln Artist and Haze of Rage provide an infinite storm combo finish.
