Deck overview

This Gandalf the Grey deck is an Izzet spellslinger and copy-control build that converts instant and sorcery casts into direct damage, board utility, and massive card advantage. The deck ramps on early turns using artifacts and cost-reducers before resolving Gandalf on Turn 4 or 5. Once established, the deck leverages Gandalf's modal triggers alongside magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus to generate mana and card flow. The primary clock is established on Turn 6 by stacking burn enchantments like Fiery Inscription, generating wide airborne boards with Shark Typhoon and Metallurgic Summonings, or assembling infinite mana and cast loops using Dualcaster Mage and Ghostly Flicker or Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal. Supporting redirection spells protect key plays while countering opposing interaction. The deck closes games around Turn 7 through decisive combat swarms, copied burn spells, or infinite loops.
