Deck overview

This Grixis deck operates as a hybrid control-combo build centered on Nicol Bolas flavor, hand attrition, and compact combo finishes. In the early game, the deck establishes its mana base with low-cost mana rocks like Arcane Signet and Talismans while smoothing card flow through looting and transmute tutors like Muddle the Mixture and Dizzy Spell. The mid-game leverages disruptive threats, including Nicol Bolas, the Ravager, Notion Thief, and Tergrid, God of Fright, stripping opponent resources and generating card advantage. The deck closes games through decisive combo lines. Its primary win condition pairs Thassa's Oracle with Demonic Consultation, exiling the library to secure an instant victory on Turn 5. As a secondary avenue, reanimating Worldgorger Dragon with Animate Dead produces infinite mana and blinks utility lands for lethal damage. While the deck contains powerful late-game planeswalkers, its core strength lies in pivoting quickly from attrition to an unblockable, same-turn combo finish.
