Deck overview

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice leads a token/lifegain midrange deck. The primary plan is to turn every creature and lifegain trigger into a growing army of Cats, Soldiers, Angels, and Horses, then multiply it with populate effects and finishing pumps. The commander's ETB life trigger and activated populate are the backbone, but Doubling Season, Rhys the Redeemed, Elspeth, Storm Slayer, and Caretaker's Talent act as secondary engines, allowing the deck to win even if Trostani is removed. Rhys works as a hidden second commander by providing extra token doubling. Secondary paths include a life-gain counter package with Archangel of Thune and Kami of Whispered Hopes, and alternate wins through Halo Fountain or Aetherflux Reservoir. Craterhoof Behemoth and Blossoming Bogbeast provide the usual lethal combat swings.
