Deck overview

This deck centers on Xyris, the Writhing Storm, weaponizing symmetric wheel effects into overwhelming asymmetric board states. By utilizing a dense package of 1-mana dorks and 2-mana ramp, the deck accelerates Xyris onto the battlefield by Turn 3 or 4. Once Xyris is active, casting any wheel spell such as Windfall, Reforge the Soul, or Echo of Eons forces each opponent to draw seven cards. This immediately floods the board with 21 Snake creature tokens while refilling the pilot's hand. The deck converts these tokens into lethal table damage using passive creature-entry burn cards like Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors, and Agate Instigator, or by turning sideways with Shared Animosity. Sacrificial mana engines like Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar allow the deck to chain multiple wheels in a single turn, providing fast, explosive finishes alongside resilient backup lines in The Locust God.
