Deck overview

This Sauron, the Dark Lord deck is a high-power Grixis midrange build focused on the Ring Tempts You mechanic, discard synergies, and reanimation. The primary strategy accelerates into Sauron by turn 4, using his Ward ability and passive Orc army generation to command the board. Once Sauron or an Army connects in combat, the Ring tempts the player, triggering an optional wheel that draws four cards. This constant card turnover powers life-draining engines such as Psychosis Crawler, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Brallin, Skyshark Rider, while filling the graveyard with reanimation targets and counter-scaling Nazgûl. Opponents face intense pressure from disruptive hatebears like Notion Thief and Dauthi Voidwalker, backed by free interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick. The deck wins through a combination of heavy combat damage from large wraiths and sustained burn.
