Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Cleric Tribal and Lifegain deck commanded by Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim. It focuses on curving out resilient, synergistic Clerics that gain life whenever creatures enter the battlefield and drain opponents whenever creatures die. By establishing an early defensive board with cards like Soul's Attendant, Righteous Valkyrie, and Heliod, Sun-Crowned, the deck rapidly inflates its life total well beyond the starting 40. This lifegain fuels decisive win conditions such as Test of Endurance, Aetherflux Reservoir, and Angel of Destiny, or powers wide combat overruns through Akroma's Will and Cathars' Crusade. While the deck benefits from strong tribal recursion via Orah, Skyclave Hierophant and Solemn Doomguide, its reliance on non-hasty creature boards and upkeep-triggered win conditions leaves it exposed to sweepers, fast combo strategies, and anti-lifegain effects. Overall, it delivers a steady, grindy midrange game plan that leverages life total superiority to dictate the pace of the table.
