Deck overview

This Temur deck uses Illuna, Apex of Wishes as both a commander-damage threat and a high-velocity cheat engine. The game plan focuses on deploying low-cost non-Human creatures on early turns alongside explosive mana ramp such as Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Fanatic of Rhonas. By Turn 4, the deck casts Illuna for its mutate cost ({3}{R/G}{U}{U}), triggering an exile effect that cheats game-ending nonland permanents like Omniscience, Blightsteel Colossus, Etali, Primal Conqueror, or Vaultborn Tyrant straight onto the battlefield. Topdeck sculptors such as Worldly Tutor, Brainstorm, and Sensei's Divining Top allow precise manipulation of the top card to maximize mutate value. Backed by premier free protection like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, the deck overwhelms the table through relentless trample, infect, and evasive combat damage by Turn 7. If disrupted, big-mana engines and independent threats like Animar, Soul of Elements provide resilient backup routes to victory.
