Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Grixis Wheels strategy commanded by Norman Osborn // Green Goblin. In the opening turns, Norman provides unblockable chip damage and connive filtering before transforming into Green Goblin. Once transformed, Green Goblin grants all discarded nonland cards mayhem with an effective {2} generic mana discount, converting every symmetrical wheel spell into a massive burst of accessible card advantage. The deck capitalizes on this velocity through a dense suite of draw and discard punishers, including Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Liliana's Caress, Megrim, and Orcish Bowmasters, which drain the table rapidly as wheels resolve. Mana generation engines like Waste Not and Bone Miser turn opposing discards into bursts of mana that fund chaining multiple wheels in a single turn. Defended by efficient countermagic and disruptive board wipes like Archfiend of Ifnir and Cyclonic Rift, the deck reliably closes the game across Turns 4 and 5.
