Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition control deck designed to systematically grind opponents out of resources before closing the game with incremental life drain and heavy creature beatdown. The primary strategy focuses on early symmetrical discard pieces like Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists, and Oppression, combined with repeated edict effects from creatures such as Plaguecrafter and Fleshbag Marauder. The deck breaks parity on these symmetrical resource wipes using cheap graveyard recursion engines like Phyrexian Reclamation, Chthonian Nightmare, and Oversold Cemetery. Once opponents are stripped of cards in hand and permanents on the board, drain engines like Vein Ripper, Bastion of Remembrance, and Bandit's Talent steadily bleed life totals, while high-impact threats like Valgavoth, Terror Eater provide an insurmountable late-game combat presence.
