Deck overview

This deck is a focused Mono-Black Group Slug and Forced Draw strategy helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The primary game plan revolves around turning the fundamental game action of drawing cards into a lethal liability for opponents while converting your own draws into massive life gain. The deck leverages symmetric draw artifacts like Howling Mine, Font of Mythos, and the devastating Teferi's Puzzle Box to force rapid hand cycling, chunking away 10 to 14 life per opponent each turn cycle. A compact tutor package featuring Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor ensures fast access to critical payoffs such as Peer into the Abyss or the infinite combo of Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. High-efficiency black interaction like Toxic Deluge, Damnation, and Deadly Rollick controls creature boards, while equipment such as Commander's Plate and Lightning Greaves shields the commander from opposing removal.
