Beating RJ's Combo Decks by FatRomeo

Format: Commander

Commander: Captain Howler, Sea Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge is a backup finisher rather than the heart of this Izzet discard deck. The primary plan is to loot and wheel into a deep graveyard while triggering discard payoffs, then assemble Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator plus Glint-Horn Buccaneer. An attacking Glint-Horn converts each discard into 1 damage to each opponent and a fresh card, and Malcolm turns that damage into Treasure that funds the next activation, creating an infinite damage loop. Secondary wins lean on Magmakin Artillerist and Brallin as discard pings, with Underworld Breach recasting wheels from the graveyard. Mind Over Matter plus Misty Knight can draw huge chunks of the library. There is no hidden commander; Rielle is a supporting draw engine.
