Deck overview

This deck uses Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient as both commander and mana engine. It ramps with lands, Sol Ring, cost reducers, and cards such as Frontier Siege and Sarkhan, Fireblood. Once Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient attacks, its power becomes spell-only mana, allowing the deck to deploy more Dragons after combat. The strongest board-building payoffs are Ganax, Astral Hunter, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Garruk's Uprising, Warstorm Surge, and Scourge of Valkas. Combat finishers such as Atarka, World Render and Thrakkus the Butcher can turn a wide Dragon board into lethal damage. The deck is powerful in a casual or upgraded casual setting, but its seven-mana commander, limited tutoring, limited stack interaction, and reliance on surviving combat make the clock slow and exposed. It has useful protection and removal, but no infinite combo, hard lock, or dependable route to immediate table kills.
