Deck overview

This is an Izzet discard-matters midrange deck helmed by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge. The core plan is to chain loot and discard spells to fuel multiple payoffs at once: Howler pumps a creature (often himself) for lethal combat while drawing off connections, Brallin, Skyshark Rider and Magmakin Artillerist burn the table, and Monument to Endurance converts every discard into treasures, cards, or life loss. A dense instant/sorcery package feeds magecraft and token engines (Veyran, Voice of Duality, Storm-Kiln Artist, Talrand, Sky Summoner, The Locust God) while three Niv-Mizzet variants plus Curiosity supply classic draw-damage combos. Anger and Wonder in the graveyard grant haste and flying so pumped attackers connect reliably. The deck wins through layered burn, evasive combat, or Niv loops rather than a single brittle line.
