Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger aggro strategy helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary objective is to cast high-mana-value instants and sorceries—often discounted via delve, cost reducers, or alternative costs—to generate massive flying Elemental creature tokens with haste at the beginning of combat. The deck accelerates through early mana dorks, mana rocks, and spell cost-reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor before deploying Rootha on Turn 3 or 4. Once assembled, heavy-hitting spells such as Dig Through Time, Treasure Cruise, and Magma Opus trigger Rootha to produce 6/6 to 8/8 flying beaters. Token doublers and cloners including Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Rionya, Fire Dancer, and Determined Iteration amplify this board presence, while Surge to Victory provides explosive team-wide buffs and free spell copies on combat damage. The deck features functional creature and artifact removal but relies on overwhelming aerial combat damage rather than combo locks to close out games by Turn 7.
