Token Dudes Lives Matter by MF_Donut

Format: Commander

Commander: Grismold, the Dreadsower

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Grismold, the Dreadsower deck is a Golgari token-vengeance strategy that weaponizes the commander's mandatory end-step token generation for all players. The core loop is: create 1/1 Plant tokens for each opponent, then immediately kill them with -1/-1 effects (Illness in the Ranks, Virulent Plague, Massacre Wurm) to pump Grismold and trigger death-payoff cards like Poison-Tip Archer and Massacre Wurm's drain. The deck also runs a dense token-production subtheme (Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Parallel Lives, Tendershoot Dryad, Bitterblossom) that can go wide, and a modest recursion package via Honest Rutstein and Insidious Roots. Primary win conditions are commander damage from a gigantic Grismold (with trample) and attrition drain from repeated token deaths. The deck lacks fast combo lines and relies on incremental value, making it a mid-range value engine.
