Deck overview

This mono-black attrition deck leverages Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal alongside a dense suite of symmetrical discard spells and persistent rack effects. The deck's primary strategy revolves around systematically emptying opponents' hands using cards like Bottomless Pit, Necrogen Mists, Burglar Rat, and Delirium Skeins. Once hands are depleted, Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal generates massive card advantage and 1/1 flying Bat tokens while attacking, while rack pieces such as Megrim, Liliana's Caress, Court of Ambition, and Tinybones, Trinket Thief steadily drain life totals. The deck functions effectively on curve with redundant pieces, but lacks instant-speed interaction and targeted removal for noncreature permanents. Its commander features resilient built-in recursion by transforming into Temple of the Dead, allowing the pilot to grind opponents down over multiple combat and upkeep cycles.
