Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy built around The Ur-Sphinx. From the command zone, the commander's Eminence ability reduces the cost of all Sphinx spells by {1}. The deck leverages a dense package of 2-mana mana rocks and cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign to deploy heavy flying creatures ahead of schedule. Once assembled on Turn 4, Unesh provides continuous card advantage with every Sphinx cast, allowing you to flood the board with resilient threats. The deck controls the tempo of the game using efficient single-target removal, strong countermagic, and one-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Dominance that spare your Sphinxes. It closes out games on Turn 7 by delivering overwhelming evasive combat damage, accelerated by life-halving effects from Magister Sphinx.
