Deck overview

This mono-blue tempo deck controls the game by combining low-cost flying creatures with repeatable combat card-draw engines and free countermagic. In the early game, cheap flyers like Siren Stormtamer and Faerie Mastermind connect with enchantments such as Curious Obsession and Combat Research to maintain a full hand of reactive spells. As the total power of flying creatures accumulates, the deck casts its commander, The Lord of the Eagles, at a steep discount using flash on an opponent's end step. An 8/8 flyer backed by anthems like Gravitational Shift and army builders like Alandra, Sky Dreamer quickly presents lethal combat damage. The list protects its board with format-staple countermagic including Force of Will, Force of Negation, and Mana Drain while using bounce spells like Cyclonic Rift to clear opposing blockers and disrupt opposing combos.
