Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck leverages Fire Lord Azula to transform the combat phase into an explosive storm engine. By attacking with Azula, the pilot generates immediate red mana via Firebending 2 and duplicates every spell cast while she is attacking. The deck capitalizes on this ability by stringing together instant-speed rituals, card-draw spells, and Magecraft triggers from powerhouses like Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Veyran, Voice of Duality. With flash enablers like Borne Upon a Wind, even sorceries can enter the combat storm chain. The strategy closes games via massive burn from Crackle with Power or Comet Storm, storm mill via Brain Freeze, or cumulative ping triggers from Guttersnipe and Vivi Ornitier. Backed by a premier suite of free countermagic and targeted protection, the deck reliably pivots from setup to an unanswerable same-turn table elimination.
