Deck overview

This mono-black attrition deck is led by Olinda the Oblivious, focusing on placing persistent odor counters on opposing creatures to burn opponents for 2 life per creature each upkeep. Because odor counters remain even after Olinda leaves play, the deck establishes an inevitable, compounding life-drain clock. To ensure opponents always control valid targets, the list incorporates creature-gifting cards like Genesis Chamber, Akroan Horse, and Slaughter Specialist. Evasion equipment such as Brotherhood Regalia and Whispersilk Cloak guarantees safe attack triggers, while trigger duplicators like Blade of Selves and Panharmonicon rapidly accelerate counter distribution. A robust suite of one-mana 'feign death' spells protects Olinda and re-triggers her abilities on return. The strategy closes games via massive upkeep damage amplified by Wound Reflection, backed by Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate to finish off surviving opponents.
