Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Mardu Assassin typal strategy commanded by Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad that leverages combat-triggered graveyard reanimation. The primary game plan fills the graveyard early using targeted discard and burial spells like Entomb and Buried Alive, placing lethal Assassins like Virtus the Veiled, Unstoppable Slasher, and Vein Ripper into the bin. Once Altaïr attacks, he exiles these creatures with memory counters to generate temporary tapped and attacking token copies each combat step. Support cards such as The Master, Multiplied, Anointed Procession, and Shared Animosity scale the token output and damage to lethal levels. The deck features dense, efficient spot interaction and free defensive spells like Flawless Maneuver and Flare of Fortitude to shield Altaïr during combat windows. While vulnerable to early graveyard hate and targeted creature removal, the persistent nature of memory counters ensures that re-deploying the commander quickly restores overwhelming combat pressure.
