Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet combo-tempo strategy commanded by Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. The primary game plan centers on utilizing Malcolm's ability to generate Treasure tokens whenever Pirates deal damage to opponents. The deck accelerates through the early turns using depletion lands and low-cost rituals to deploy Malcolm by Turn 3. On Turn 4, it establishes a decisive win through a two-card combo with Glint-Horn Buccaneer, looping discards and combat triggers to deal lethal damage to all three opponents in a single turn. Redundant lines exist through Reckless Fireweaver combined with type-modifying spells like Artificial Evolution, as well as Niv-Mizzet, Parun paired with Curiosity effects. The deck supports its proactive clock with efficient countermagic like Fierce Guardianship, Pyroblast, and Swan Song, alongside tempo-positive card advantage engines.
