Deck overview

This deck is a classic Grixis Midrange Control build centered on Thraximundar. It aims to control opposing creature boards using targeted spot removal like Terminate and Dreadbore, alongside asymmetric sacrifice effects from Dictate of Erebos and Archfiend of Depravity. Mana velocity relies on two-mana Signets, Talismans, and three-mana mana rocks to navigate a high-curve creature suite. Once seven mana is available around Turn 6, the deck deploys Thraximundar, attacking immediately thanks to haste to force sacrifices and grow in power. Without infinite combos or extra combat steps, the deck grinds down three opponents sequentially using commander and flying combat damage. The list boasts strong redundancy in large backup threats like Necropolis Regent and The Locust God, but it is limited by an absence of counterspells and protective equipment, leaving its key threats vulnerable to spot removal.
