Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis midrange build commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It combines aggressive combat pressure, token generation, and heavy card churning through the Amass Orcs and the Ring tempts you mechanics. Early turns focus on deploying 2-CMC mana rocks and setting up the graveyard with utility incarnations like Anger and Wonder via Buried Alive. Once Sauron enters on Turn 5, he creates massive Orc Armies whenever opponents cast spells and punishes targeted removal with his steep legendary-sacrifice ward. Connecting with an Army triggers Ring temptation, enabling Sauron to discard depleted hands and draw four fresh cards each turn. This card flow digs into overwhelming combat finishers like Assault on Osgiliath or board-wiping synergies with Archfiend of Ifnir. The deck maintains resilience through a dense suite of countermagic, instant-speed protection, and alternate token engines like Lord of the Nazgûl.
