Deck overview

Helmed by Satoru Umezawa, this is a Dimir ninjutsu tempo deck that uses one-mana unblockable creatures as portals for much larger threats. Satoru's static ability gives every creature card in hand ninjutsu {2}{U}{B}, so the deck only needs a connecting 1/1 to start swapping in seven-mana haymakers for four mana. The primary plan is to connect with an evasive dork, ninjutsu in a payoff such as Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, Fallen Shinobi, or Silent-Blade Oni, and convert combat triggers into card advantage, life drain, spell theft, and stolen permanents. The deck is not a deterministic combo deck; it wins through accumulated combat damage, Yuriko's high-mana-value drains, and by turning the table's own resources against them. Secondary wins come from Agent of Treachery, Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni, Zareth San, the Trickster, and other steal effects.
