This deck is a high-velocity Izzet spellslinger storm combo deck commanded by Vadrik, Astral Archmage. The core strategy leverages Vadrik's ability to reduce the generic mana cost of instant and sorcery spells by an amount equal to his power. By using low-cost pump spells like Reckless Charge, Blazing Crescendo, and Fists of the Anvil, or equipment like Hero's Blade, the deck inflates Vadrik's power to 4 or higher. This dramatic discount allows large card draw spells and buyback cards to be cast for just single colored mana pips. Once cost reduction is online, the deck chains buyback spells such as Haze of Rage, Seething Anger, and Searing Touch with mana engines like Storm-Kiln Artist, Runaway Steam-Kin, and Mana Geyser to generate infinite storm and mana.
