Deck overview

This deck is a Temur Midrange Stompy strategy centered around Animar, Soul of Elements. It leverages early ramp and cheap utility creatures to rapidly accumulate +1/+1 counters on Animar. As counters build, Animar's passive ability reduces the generic mana cost of creature spells, allowing the pilot to cast massive colorless and artifact threats—such as Blightsteel Colossus, Darksteel Colossus, and Krang, Utrom Warlord—for little to no mana. Support cards like Hardened Scales, The Earth Crystal, and Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist accelerate counter generation, while The Ozolith preserves board investment against removal. The deck converts this immense mana velocity into lethal combat pressure using haste enablers like Rising of the Day and evasion from Rogue's Passage. While vulnerable to mass exile and non-targeted sweepers, Animar's innate protection from white and black provides strong resilience against common spot removal.
