Deck overview

This Selesnya deck is piloted by Hamza, Guardian of Arashin, focusing on an aggressive +1/+1 counters strategy that accelerates mid- and late-game beaters into play. The early game focuses on deploying low-mana creatures that enter with or distribute +1/+1 counters, such as Bond Beetle, Spike Drone, and Fearless Fledgling. These modified creatures reduce the casting cost of Hamza, allowing the commander to hit the board ahead of curve on Turn 4 or 5. Once established, Hamza provides substantial mana cost reduction to creature spells, enabling rapid deployment of large threats like Ridgescale Tusker, Herd Baloth, and Enduring Scalelord. The deck converts this wide, tall creature presence into a win via combat damage, utilizing evasion granters such as Abzan Falconer, Elite Scaleguard, and Trollbred Guardian. While the deck features robust creature redundancy and resilient counter-based protection spells, it remains vulnerable to sweepers and lacks compact infinite combos.
