Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck leverages steady mana development and asymmetric sacrifice triggers to grind down opponents. Helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the list plays like a controlling midrange strategy rather than a fast combo deck. Early turns focus on deploying efficient ramp like Arcane Signet and Jet Medallion alongside utility fodder such as Ophiomancer and Shambling Ghast. Once established around Turn 5, the deck utilizes Grave Pact, Bastion of Remembrance, and Syr Konrad, the Grim to repeatedly clear opposing creatures while siphoning life totals. While the deck possesses immense resilience against traditional combat strategies, it lacks high-speed stack interaction and universal tutors. It closes out games on Turn 9 through cumulative aristocrat drains, large swings from Avacyn, and burst life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
