Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel as a card advantage engine and trigger activator, converting life gains into immediate card flow. The primary strategy focuses on assembling an infinite life-drain combo by pairing Exquisite Blood with any of its redundant counter-pieces, such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, Enduring Tenacity, or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. Early turns establish incremental lifegain engines through soul sisters like Soul Warden and tax pieces like Authority of the Consuls and Kambal, Consul of Allocation. A strong tutor package quickly locates missing pieces, while Grand Abolisher provides crucial protection during the winning turn. If the main combo is contested, the deck seamlessly transitions into alternate win conditions through big-mana finishers like Exsanguinate and Debt to the Deathless backed by Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
