Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and reanimation strategy that wins by turning creature deaths into continuous resource advantage and table-wide life drain. The deck deploys low-cost sacrifice outlets such as Warren Soultrader and Ashnod's Altar, paired with fodder creatures and payoff engines like Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance, and Ayara, First of Locthwain. It uses powerful proactive attrition pieces including Grave Pact, Dauthi Voidwalker, and The Darkness Crystal to systematically strip opponents of creatures and graveyard access. High-impact mid-game spells like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, and Living Death swing life totals and stabilize the board. Commander Avacyn, Angel of Horror serves as an 8-mana top-end engine that recurs all dying nontoken creatures at each end step, providing devastating resilience against board wipes and repeated enter-the-battlefield triggers to close out games.
