Deck overview

This is a spellslinger/value deck built around Gandalf, Party Guest's combat-phase free spell. You develop Wizards such as Baral and Kaza to cut costs and draw cards, then chain instants and sorceries into a Thousand-Year Storm turn, multiplying Niv-Mizzet pings or Gandalf's Sanction damage. Gandalf, Party Guest provides one free spell each combat and widens the X as other legendary Wizards enter. Secondary paths include grinding with Fiery Inscription and Gandalf the Grey triggers or equipping Glamdring to the commander for a commander-damage clock. Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy and Will of the Jeskai give hidden recursion, and the deck is counterspell-heavy, though it lacks a fast combo.
