Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari midrange strategy piloted by Dina, Soul Steeper. The deck focuses on combining incremental lifegain triggers with passive life drain to whittle down opposing life totals while building up to large, resilient creature threats. In the early game, the deck establishes Dina alongside repeatable lifegain sources like Pristine Talisman and Dogged Pursuit. As the game transitions into the middle and late turns, it pivots toward powerful game-warping permanents such as Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider, and Demon of Loathing to apply heavy combat pressure. While the deck boasts high redundancy in combat tricks, deathtouch synergies, and single-target removal, its high average mana curve and limited ramp make it slower to recover from repeated board sweepers. It ultimately closes out games through a mix of unblockable or evasive combat damage and inevitable burn.
