Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages a powerful lifegain and life-drain strategy led by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It combines early asymmetric stax and tax pieces with deterministic infinite combo lines. In the early game, cards like Authority of the Consuls, Blind Obedience, and Kambal, Consul of Allocation slow down opponent development and tax life totals. Meanwhile, low-cost mana rocks ramp into the deck's primary win condition: pairing an Exquisite Blood effect with a Sanguine Bond effect (such as Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Bloodthirsty Conqueror). Once both pieces are on the battlefield, any life gain or loss triggers an immediate, infinite loop that drains all three opponents to zero in a single turn. Backed by efficient instant-speed removal, redundant combo pieces, and card draw engines like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, the deck plays an effective control and combo game.
