Deck overview

This is a colorless artifact-combo deck helmed by Traxos, Scourge of Kroog, a 7/7 trample Construct that untaps whenever you cast a historic spell. The real engine of the deck is the 99: it ramps aggressively with Urza's Tower/Urza's Mine/Urza's Power Plant, Mishra's Workshop, Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Mox Diamond, Mox Opal, Thran Dynamo, and Metalworker, then assembles one of several infinite engines - Mystic Forge + Sensei's Divining Top + Aetherflux Reservoir, Krark-Clan Ironworks + Scrap Trawler + Myr Retriever + Grinding Station, Basalt Monolith + Manifold Key, or Metalworker + Staff of Domination - with Walking Ballista as the universal outlet. Traxos is a solid beater and a fine blocker, but he is not the engine; the deck functions at full capacity without him. Secondary plans include a Construct beatdown with Krang, Utrom Warlord and Karn, Legacy Reforged, plus the one-sided wipe of All Is Dust under Darksteel Forge.
